I love spending time with big groups of people and hang out but when it comes to school and workin together with others, im not your biggest fan. In my Bayan English class we have all had the opportunity to meet one another and form groups for almost any kind of assignment. ITS AWESOME! I have really learned the we can help one another and improve our skills as individuals. Since the very first day of class we had to meet the person next to us and exchange numbers. We had an awesome breakfast gathering where we all blended with one another and learned of eachother, the fun field trip at night, a balloon game where we work together with our group members, our actual group meeting outside of class, our peer revision groups where we helped one another with our essays giving eachother "kisses" and "wishes". I can see we are growing together as a class not just I as an individual. Experiencing this in my English class has brought me to also apply these effective methods in my other classes. Working with others in my class makes me feel more connected to the class, easier to understand, and of course makes it 10 times more fun. If youre not used to working together with others you should really try it! Youll enjoy it and willl learn alot!Im excited to see the end of this semester and how much these effective skills have helped me as a student. I will keep you posted! =)
I finally wrote my post about the retreat. It's so late I had to revise it to include all the things we are trying to do to make the class feel more like a community, the ways we are experimenting with working in groups and the like. Here's to more success!
