PIE

As were getting deeper into writing and the structures and rhetorical modes we can use in class Wednesday, Professor Aronson helped us out by providing some analogies which would help us remember the structure we can write up our body paragraphs. This reminded me of an easy, quick, and fun analogy shared with me in high school and I thought it would be fun to share with you today! Give it up for PIE!

E-Explanation (detail)
When constructing an essay it is important to maintain the same pattern throughout your body paragraphs. PIE is a way to keep it well organized and make sure you are adding in everything needed to make your essay a success. Choosing your points and making sure to start off your paragraph with it informs your reader what that paragraph will be based on. By providing illustrations it is easier for the reader to understand and you are giving points as to what it really is. Finally you wrap up your paragraph by explaining all of the above making it easy for the reader to understand and back up your information. Hopefully PIE becomes helpful to you. :)

Bayan Community Project

We have been getting in groups in our English class to discuss this matter of our Bayan Community Project. What it is, is a project that will engage others on campus such as ;students, professors, high schoolers of our English 115 Bayan class and the wonderful experiences and gain they can too recieve by taking this course. Weve been organizing and structuring the way we will go about this project. Like most events you need a purpose so in class we got into our bayan groups and individually wrote out a statement  for this class. Everyone in the groups decided on the best one and we will then be choosing out final statement. We also made a map/outline of what would be needed in order for this project to be successful and many groups came up with great ideas such as, choosing a place, a time, who our audience will be, entertainment, prizes, games, music, food, posters for promotion, and the list goes on. I love working together because we no only go by what one person says in this case Aronson, but he is open to new ideas and has everyone contribute. Im sure like myself many students are very thankful and really enjoy being able to feel a part of something and knowing your part matter :)
