PIE

As were getting deeper into writing and the structures and rhetorical modes we can use in class Wednesday, Professor Aronson helped us out by providing some analogies which would help us remember the structure we can write up our body paragraphs. This reminded me of an easy, quick, and fun analogy shared with me in high school and I thought it would be fun to share with you today! Give it up for PIE!

When constructing an essay it is important to maintain the same pattern throughout your body paragraphs. PIE is a way to keep it well organized and make sure you are adding in everything needed to make your essay a success. Choosing your points and making sure to start off your paragraph with it informs your reader what that paragraph will be based on. By providing illustrations it is easier for the reader to understand and you are giving points as to what it really is. Finally you wrap up your paragraph by explaining all of the above making it easy for the reader to understand and back up your information. Hopefully PIE becomes helpful to you. :)
